Mahidol University (MU) in cooperation with National Health Security Office (NHSO) organized a training course on “Capacity Building: Leadership for Change in Management of the Community Health Fund”

On February 21, 2020, Prof. Dr. Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University presided over the opening ceremony of the training course on “Capacity Building:  Leadership for Change in Management of the Community Health Fund” (Class 1), co-hosted by Mahidol University (MU) and National Health Security Office (NHSO) at Boonsiri Conference room, ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University.

On this occasion, Dr. Sakchai Kanjanawatana, Secretary-General of the National Health Security Office and Mr. Kittipong Kerdrit, Director of the Division Local Public Health, Representative of the Director-General of the Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior gave a speech and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Tejativaddhana, Director of ASEAN Institute for Health Development (AIHD) welcomed the participants. Asst. Prof. Dr. Aroonsri MongkolChati, the project manager of this training course reported the project background in the opening ceremony.

The MOU between Mahidol University by ASEAN Institute for Health Development and National Health Security Office was made on 4 September 2019 and both sides co-developed a curriculum to improve the capacity of leaders to encourage the National Health Security Local Fund. The first class will be organized from 21 to 23 February 2020. The objective is to develop the capacity of the Chief Executive of the Local Administrative Organization, Chief Administrator of Local Administrator Organization, Public Health Division Administrator, Treasury Executives, Local Administrator Organization personnel, Committee of the Local or Local Health Security Fund (OCSC), including academics and related persons who are interested in local development to have leadership skill and skills of managing public health in the community. In addition, participants will be able to perform duties with confidence and efficiency. The training models are learning from the experts and experienced key persons in the administration of the local health insurance system, the administration of the local government organization and the self-study from practice learning skills in 3 months after the training. The team of experts from the ASEAN Institute for Health Development and the National Health Security Office will monitor, evaluate, and support the learning continuously.
